    Gonna try

I have been lurking in this forum, gather info on commuting to work. I teach and I live 3 miles from school. I do not have access to a shower, so I really went through that discussion and read all of the suggestions. That is the part that has been holding me back, no shower.

Today my DH dropped me off and I am going to walk home. I think Friday I am going to try the bike....

I can't do it every day, but a couple of days a week would be fun.

Fantastic! I'm one of the no shower people. Once you get the drill down, it's not bad at all. Let us know how it goes.

I commute 4 miles - I don't have a shower - I just sponge off with water bottle and washrag and soap. Then I put new anti perspirant and go - 4 miles doesn't get me all that sweaty except in the summer -when just standing would do the same

No shower for me, either. I shower before I go, and towel off with a dry hand towel when I get there. Three miles for me, too. Have fun!

Two miles for me, no shower either. I just try to not work up a sweat.

Hi and welcome. Glad you decided to post and say hello.

When I commute on the bike it is a 28 mile round trip and with no shower at work. In the morning, after arriving (like today) I do the usual, take the infamous 'MCshower' (ie towelettes, wipes, a little fresh water, etc) and get on with the day. There are a couple of riders in my building so nobody does a double take when you walk around in cleats and spandex

I bet you can do this commute, just plan ahead, maybe take some clothes to work when you drive in, and you'll be set.

Hope to see your post in the daily ride section

I too commute to school three days a week weather permitting. I do not have shower facilities so like others I make do with what I do have. I keep soap, towel, deodorant, comb, etc in my closet. I've found it best to wait 5 - 10 minutes after arriving at school to start the transformation from biker to teacher.

I too, am a non-shower person. Er...at work anyway! I agree with Makbike, a five or ten minute cool down/transition from biker chick to drafter helps a lot!

Congrats on deciding to bike in a few times a week!

me too! 4 mile commute downhill and flats to work. It's cooler in the morning.
now going home, I seriously sweat going back up the hill in the hottest part of the day.
