Looking down at the sit bones part of the saddle from the top, the closer to this shape I can get the better. Does that make sense?

LOL - you know I think your right. The sitbones felt good and comfy but the rubbing aaaggghhhhhh. I tried feeling around the saddle with my hand while I was riding (must have looked funny to cars going by) and my sit bones seemed nicely supported and the soft tissue area was good. I adore the women's Avocet Air 02 Air 40 ti rail. Wide, flat and firm under the sit bones. Very long and narrow nose. That almost right angle at the back of the thighs. A little divot where it counts.
