    OT: Exploding Apple batteries

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Well, pooey. Apple updated their list of recalled batteries and mine is one of 'em. I wonder if that's why the thing gets so incredibly hot...

So, if you have a Mac with a battery that you've bought in the last 3 years, go to www.apple.com/support and see if yours is on the list!

Apple will send you a new one (free) with a pre-paid envelope so you can then send 'em your old battery.

Meanwhile, don't use the battery. Take it out and just use the adapter.

I have a G5 iMac and it gets super hot. In less than two years, I'm having my second issue with the power source. The first time it blew up and took out my motherboard. I've been an Apple user since the 80s (I'm on my tenth Mac) and I've NEVER experienced so many hardware issues.
