    Racewalking for next Tri

Since my bummer-bit of this year's tri was the run which I walked, I think my best bet to get under 2 hours next year is to learn to racewalk. (my knee really can't cope with running anymore)

Learn to racewalk, and not spend 10 minutes in transition chatting with new friends...

Anyway, do you folks have a favorite racewalking book, organization, DVD, or website?

I don't... but the way my running... or lack of rather... has been lately, I am setting my eyes on speed/race walking as well.

Right now, I can pretty much walk a 15 minute mile... and maybe with some practice I can get it faster?

Of course my running coach says I will run... but things aren't improving... and the legs are still hurting... so... who knows.

I was walking (I thought) fast in the tri, and got left in the dust of a racewalker. She was keeping up with the slower runners easily.

Back when I thought I'd try to run again this spring, I timed myself doing 3 miles running and 3 miles walking.

They were the same! Clearly the couple times I walked during the run I walked very slowly trying to recover before I picked up the pace to a run again.

So I ended up with the same speed, and in a lot of pain. Much pain, no gain.

The racewalkers at the NYC marathon always leave me in the dust!!
It sounds like a good idea, but sorry... I have no books or such on it...
