    congrats on reaching your goal!!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

Layers, layers, layers - the season never ends. (I'm thinking studded tires, too.) Hard t imagine when our heat index is 109...

Yeah, I'm going to try not to wimp out this "winter." Our's are mild enough that I should be able to ride nearly year round. But it gets very windy during the winter and even if it's not really cold it can still chill you to the bone...not to mention that it's not much fun to ride in weather like that. I have to admit I'm looking forward to some cooler weather.

betagirl - yep, next year my goal will be 2000 miles...or maybe more... depends on how many I end up with this year.

Geonz - and everyone else who's dealing with big heat!

Be careful out there! I remember that nasty weather, and don't much miss it. Here in Boise, I think it has to be about 115 real degrees to have a heat index of 109. Fortunately, today only got to about 85, which felt darned near chilly after several days over 100!

In the pnw, I think I do most of my riding come winter... I'm just one of those freaks, though. =) Rain? Pfft. I don't have to shovel it! Snow? Bring it! Cold? If it's above 32F, it's still t-shirt weather! That's what WI did for me.

I'm just looking forward to getting my slicks!
