    Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Had such a wonderful moment today that I just had to share.
Was ambling along on my bike, when I spy a guy behind me in my mirror.
He's breaking his neck to overtake, comes up beside me, completely refuses to acknowledge my existence, passes and looks behind with a smug grin on his face (not friendly, smug).
    Testosterone posioning!
I carry on ambling along and about a kilometre further down the road come to an incline. Spy the guy in front of me, puffing and panting like a steam train and in no time at all, I'm sailing effortlessly past him as he struggles up the hill. I'm halfway back down again (hill repeats) as he's still chugging up.
Give him a big cheesy grin as I pass.
The look on his face was priceless! Guess the hill training is finally paying off!

I wouldn't normally be so mean, but revenge is just a little bit sweet!
I was so stoked I'd managed to overtake someone I was on a high all the way home!

!!! Beautiful, just beautiful! I wish I could have seen the look on his face when you sailed past on the uphill! You certainly deserve to be on a high!
    You are woman.......... !

I am personally horrified, shocked and offended. Testosterone poisoning isn't merely a condition, it's a disease and those afflicted should be treated with due respect and consideration.

    HA!

Just proves- women are generally better hill climbers then men. BUT watch out on the downhills- because of their body mass they will generally overtake us no matter how hard we ride!

Keep it up, I too love passing the guys on hills!

I had the opposite happen last week, but it was also cool. At first a guy zooms passed me, but then starts slowing down and looking behind him. I thought he was looking for his riding companion(s) but he was encouraging me to catch up and ride along. Now, I am an old married lady, but attention from a very good looking guy on a bike is always a good thing (he was a hottie, older but very fit, italian, tall and thin). He had a nice custom ti seven, and we rode about 20 miles together. I knew he was stronger and could have ridden faster, but clearly he had decided that it would be more fun to ride with me, until I let it slip that my husband was ahead in the fast group of men, and then he took off too .

Triskeliongirl (what does that mean?) Good story- it does a girl's heart good to get a little unsolicited attention once in awhile! I was doing a 50 mile horse endurance ride a few years ago that also had an ultra marathon on the same trail at the same time. I leapfrogged with one guy for awhile, exchanging pleasantries and toward the end, he made an effort to catch up to me and asked me if I was married! I laughed and said yes, but thanks for asking. He said all the cute ones were married!!

My handle refers to a molecule I study, called clathrin, that has the shape of a triskelion. My friend Lynette Chiang who works for Bike Friday rode with me to my lab one day on her Texas tour, and made this great movie about it. Go to this link http://www.bikefriday.com/main.cfm?f...&Category=Shop, scroll down to San Antonio Movies, and then click on the Cycling Scientist one.
