    Party's over

    Well I am sure a lot of you out there are in the same boat as I am.

    Our school workshops started today with students coming on Thursday

    Now I am back with all of you that work a regular shift all summer.

    Not only will my riding time now be severly limited but also my TE time! I am starting to go through withdrawl already

    I HEAR YOU

    Even tonight - instead of getting off at 5 and riding 12 miles before the 6:30 ride... I'm off at 6:00... and there are only two more weeks of weeknight rides.

    SOLUTION: I HAVE LIGHTS and I'm not afraid to use them!!! (Okay, and even with students it's not *that* trafficky around here.)

    I feel your pain for we went back on August 3rd (I hate calendar creep!). This working thing bites a big one and I'm so looking forward to retirement (9 years to go). I told myself yesterday morning, only 33 more weeks to go until summer vacation.

    Do you guys have longer breaks during the year or do you just get out early in May?

    I formerly had a year round schedule. I loved that! I was off in Oct., Feb. and June. Now we're on a traditional schedule. Students start after Labor Day and we go until June 14. We have two weeks off at Christmas and a week at Easter. I don't like it as much. We like to travel. Thom does get five weeks of vacation, but it's hard to take them all at once.

    I'd like to go to Australia and New Zealand, but the timing just isn't right. Oh well...

    The pain for me will be all the annoying school buses everywhere. I envy your schedules. YEars ago i tried to get into the school system, as a secretary;
    something! so i could have the coveted schedule. it was not to be.
    Have a good school year you guys.

    Enjoy retirement Kathi and the planned bike tours. Keep us posted on how they are

    Only 8 more years for me but reality is probably more like 10 unless I can find a younger man w/ a great income and good health insurance

    Luckily I still like my job way more days than not and actually get more done during the school year than I do in the summer
