    Home Made Energy Bars

Since we've been talking about energy bars, I thought I'd post my fav recipe.

3.5 C rolled oats blended slightly in food processor (blending is optional)
    1.5 C powdered milk
1 C sugar free or reduced calorie pancake syrup (full sugar for a big buzz!)
    1 egg
    1 T vanilla
    3/4 C applesauce
4 big scoops whey protein powder, your choice of flavors (1 scoop = ~ .25 cup)
~1/2 C milk (depends on consistency of oats)
    Handful of walnuts

Mix oats & powdered milk then add wet ingredients. It should be the consistency of slightly wet cookie dough. Spray 9X12" dish with non-stick spray. Bake 325 degrees for ~ 25 minutes. Cool & cut into bars. Freezes well.

Sounds good - here's my version of crunchier muesli bars:

2 cups rolled oats or rolled multigrain mix
    1 cup soy flakes
1/2 to 1 cup almond slivers

put in food processor to chop them up a bit

enough condensed milk to get the stuff to stick

spread on baking paper and bake at 170°C for about 25 minutes, cut into rectangles.
