    Question Solar shirt jersey's

    Hi everybody,

moved from Germany to hot Texas and now... I have to find out how I can protect myself from the sun when I do my mega long bikerides. I saw the cannondale woman's 06 solar shirt jersey, but I was to slow to get it... there are also DeSoto arm cooler, interesting... where can I find information about solar protective cycling apparel (they have to be snugg on your body) and where can I get them? The sun should not keep me from biking, the weather was never an issue, but the sun is just to dangerous... Thank's for any infos

Sun Precautions. www.sunprecautions.com Solumbra fabric. Sun Precautions is the best of the best, cream of the crop, and costs are reasonable for the quality. You need to spend some time on their website, you will find some very bike-friendly clothes.

Ex Officio and Kokatat make SPF clothing, too. www.exofficio.com www.kokatat.com I have a Kokatat shirt, which I love. Terry had a sun-blocking jersey for a while. www.terrybicycles.com

Be aware that a knit fabric is never going to be as effective as a woven fabric, because the "holes" in a knit will open more as the knit is stretched. If you wear a knit, wear sunscreen under it.

Thanks, I have been on this webpages. I also found www.uvsunware.com, they look a little bit more snugg then the sun precautions apparels.
I don't understand, that big companies like Pearl Izumi, Nike and others haven't come up with more cycling apparel for sunprotection. We all know what can happen with to much sunexposure, I just don't want to be a part of that and by the way, to dark skin makes us look old...

    Sun protection

Terry still makes a upf (sun blocker) jersey. I really like mine.

Hind, ASICS, and patagonia also make long sleeve light weight upf shirts for runners/hikers, no rear pockets. Shebeast also makes upf jerseys, long and short sleeve.

It is a little frustrating because so many jerseys are available as sleevelss/tank styles while finding upf jerseys is work!

We were recently in a Pearl Izumi outlet and asked about upf shirts. They don't make them! I bought a pair of mark down cycling shorts anyway.

I'm computer illiterate, and couldn't find that boure jersey. Can you give me the item number or name or link or something?

    Dang. I'm so pathetic....

    No worries:

    Here's one - http://www.boure.com/8604.html

And here's another -- http://www.boure.com/8626L.html But this one if for the Iron Horse Bike Race, where they race the train from Durango to Silverton - gotta do that one next year, for sure!

They only seem to make them in the men's cuts, but it's such a small company that you might be able to request one in a women's cut.
