fresh... had one in the SAME place... identical to what you're going thru. Don't ride and it's flat and almost seems to disappear... ride and it puffs up like an acorn and HURTS!
Mine was "chronically infected" which is what is happening when it puffs up due to riding... my doc said they will not go away on their own... sent me to a surgeon (and I got lucky cause he and his staff ALL ride!!!) who said, yep, gotta take it out...
My stitches come out tomorrow. Pretty minor procedure... local anesthetic to numb it... cut it out, sew it up and you're on your way. You'll be off the bike for about 2 weeks...
mine had gotten to the point that it ruptured on every ride and hurt like the ****ens. Draining it did not remove the cyst itself... so the minute you ride again, it gets infected again. I am SO glad it's gone and look forward to riding without pain again... next week!
Hope this info helps and I sympathize...
There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".
