    Sweet deal of the day

Went to the store to buy a new jersey (sold one I didn't like) Of course I had to scope out the sales.

Found a passable jersey BUT the deal of the day was a pair of Nike mtn bike shoes reg $99.99 on clearance for $9.99, I am guessing they were last years model.
They were exactly my size and the style I like (narrower, good vents and stiffer soles)

I wear mtn bike shoes for touring because I hate cleaning gravel out of my road bike cleats at rest stops (and don't want the hassle of covers for a 5 minute break) AND going into the grocery store after a ride is easier

Went home switched cleats from my Specialized mtn bike shoes which I hated because they were too wide and I am ready to go

BTW for sale 1 pair Specialized mtn bike shoes size 39 worn less than 10 times
KIDDING I think I'll keep them for when it gets cold and I can wear thick socks in them

Anyone else have deal of the day stories out there

Yeah! I paid $10 over MSRP for a set of Crocs because I could get credit at that retailer!!

Wait, that doesn't count. I resisted Woot Wine, which looks very tempting this week. And Iknow my Sugoi tank of my dreams is on clearance at a lot of places, but I am resisting until I see the amount of my check Friday...

I paid too much for new bike shoes (yes, soon, very soon, I am going clipless), which I could live with if the bike store I went to had not been so hopelessly rude. I should have just walked out and gone elsewhere.

On the upside, the shoes fit really well.
