An hour on the trainer.I suppose that's around 15 to 16 miles. Anyway, it's 113 degree heat index today and I'm not going outdoors to ride!
I watched part of "The View," part of "A Makerover Story," etc. I'm a channel flipper.

The heat index is "only" 105 here today. My usual 14-mile ride to work was not bad, although I took it on the slow side and drank more water than usual.
The bike ride home ought to be interesting, though. I'm drinking alot of water all day and will ride home s-l-o-w-l-y.
It's a Code Red ozone day here, which means bad, bad pollution. I refuse to contribute to the problem by driving, and the Metro tends to break down in the heat. I gotta get to work, though, and the bike's the best way I know.
Keep cool!
I managed to set a record both speed and distance wise for my AM ride. Yeah! I actually some other cyclist (Roadie Guys: Lights are good, espically when the sun won't come up for another half hour) and some rabbits
After spending the morning running errands in Louisville I finally made it back home and was able to take my recumbent out for a spin. The heat index is around 95 today and boy was it warm out there on the road. I got in 22 miles today and with each ride on this new bike I find my confidence growing. I'm still trying to figure out where the seat needs to be but finally have the seat reclined to a position which is comfortable and my butt is no longer sliding on the seat.
Nice cool commute this morning, saw another bike commuter which was nice. Going home will be hot again, but at least our humidity isn't all that high. I think I may take the dog down to the river to cool off.

Did an early morning 40 miles. More hill work--up and down a 4 mile, 8 percent grade hill. Was a bit worried on the descent about another tube going "BOOM!", but it didn't happen (whew). Stopped by lbs to have them check out new wheelset for problems--everything looked good.
On the way home, the coach instructed one of the guy riders to "push her pace" (that would be MY pace). We pushed 28 mph on the flats, and everything felt good. I figure it was because he was such a good draft!![]()
If you can read this, take a pull.
Did 53 km this morning. Really enjoying riding earlier in the day before it gets too hot out. Didn't fall off the bike today, but then I was too chicken to clip in to the pedals... I've ridden 165 km in the past 4 days so I'm going to take tomorrow off and play 9 holes of golf instead. Might take the mountain bike out tomorrow evening and ride along the creek for a recovery ride.
Sounds like you will handily kick my butt on Thursday. Looking forward to it!Originally Posted by AuntieK
