    A Good Quote

DH has this on the wall of his painting studio for a while, and I recently pasted a copy in my daily planner. It reminds me to make sure that my thoughts are going in a worthwhile direction. The quote is from a sports psychologist/consultant named Fannin.

"Superstars don't think like everyone else. The average person has 2,000 to 3,000 thoughts a day, and 60 percent of the average person's thoughts are in chaos. The superstar has 1,100 thoughts per day. They eliminate worry, envy, jealousy, embarrassment and anger. The superstar thinks a lot less and holds a thought longer."

Don't know how they measure the frequency of a person's thoughts, but I'm very willing to cut down on worry, envy, etc, or at least to try.

So true! Lately I've been noticing how many of my thoughts are judgemental. I quickly remind myself that these thoughts are like poison that I'm voluntarily ingesting.

    I ain't tellin' what I think about 2,000 times a day.....

that is a really good quote. I've watched myself (and others) get into a spinning tizzy because of the noise of their own thoughts. Not the "noise" of what's actually going on.

Wonder what goes through Floyd Landis's thoughts? He's pretty funny, and in a lot of pain with that hip. He must be able to focus very intensely when he's riding.

yeah, I agree with this Thought Control thing

On Saturdays I do not think about money or work. I have trained myself and the family to a large extent > When they have to speak about money they say eg 10 "apples" not naming the currency like dollars!
Took a while ( a few months like 3 ) to feel like I was *really on the way* but once you *start* you just improve and it is less effort every week.
