    Another newbie

Hello all, I just discovered Team Estrogen from someone's profile on bikejournal. I'm very excited to be a part of this group and look forward to meeting new people and learning all about the world of biking.

My name is Jazz and I am 34 and just got re-introduced into the world of biking (after 15 years!). I have a giant ocr 3, that I've had since May. I've been riding several times a week and my 2 main goals are to lose weight (lost 15#, so far!!) and to be able to bike to work. (roughly 16 miles each way). I had a bit of a set back due to sinus sx, but am getting back on a serious schedule of riding everyday. I have to take it slower than what I want too, but I am doing it.

I love the feel of my body working again, instead of sitting around collecting dust! Between biking and yoga I am getting to know myself again.

    Hi Jazz!

Wow! Congratulations on both the 15 pounds and getting to know your body again!

I recently read a great book called "Body Intelligence," which makes the point that dieting is futile because when you diet you listen to an "expert" tell you what to eat and how much of it to eat. The book makes the point that "naturally slender" people listen to their appetites and to their bodies and eat accordingly. This was a real mental breakthrough for me, and I'm concentrating on doing that. Your post encourages more on this path.

Best wishes to you, thanks for the inspiration!

    Hi Jazz,
    Welcome to the forums!
I have an OCR3 myself and it's getting lots o' use!
Yoga's a great thing as well....I always feel as if I've just gotten a nice massage after a good yoga session!

    Talking Thank you!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I always feel like a dweeb trying to introduce myself. I just got my bike out of the shop today, just a tune up, and I got a new mini pump and a under the seat pack, so I am psyched to get back out. But, I work nights, so it my bed time. Besides the worst weather seems to be heading our way. G'night all. Jazz

    Hi Everyone,
I am also brand new to this forum. I have been reading the postings for sometime and finally decided to try it out. I'm not a newbie to riding but I am to joining forum's. I have been riding for about 3 years. I ride a Trek 5200 and love it. This is a great forum with lots of support and wonderful stories.
