    SKnot got a bike!

The kid who refused to touch a bike for the last 5 or 6 years made the big step! He let my mom's bf teach him to ride in the cow pasture on a Schwinn that was waaaaay to big.

And then he wanted his own bike!

So now he has a Trek hybrid. I snuck the most recent copy of Bicycling home from work for me to read. He took it to bed with him and was reading until long past the time I went to sleep.

    HOOOOOOORAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

How exciting. My son and daughter (8 and almost 6) are really interested in my bike and my son keeps asking if they make road bikes in his size. I think it would be amazing to have this turn into a family affair!

That's really cool. I think I need some time to ease dh into the cost involved with becoming a cycling family!

    Awesome!

My brother (13, lives with my husband and I, and my dad) will NOT do a "regular bike" -- he's BMX only. He likes to ride on trails with us, but constantly complains. He just can't admit he needs a "normal" bike, that'd be SO uncool

Congrats on your 13-year old victory... enjoy them whenever you can get them!

    Hey KnottedYet,

When you mentioned SKnot in one of your posts the other day it reminded me of this thread. How's he liking his bike?

missed this thread before - that is so great that he wanted a bike!!! PP has a couple of bikes (plus the tandem), but we don't ride with her nearly as much as we should. gotta do more.

He's slowly getting the hang of it. We ride at the school track still. He doesn't have the control to ride on the bike trails or streets yet. He's still enthusiastic, but not doing much riding.

He really enjoyed cleaning and lubing his chain.

    We're working on it.
