    Review//Terry Bella Short

I used to love Terry shorts, but last year, they changed their sizing (started sizing up, so a small was more like a medium), so I tried PI shorts, which I liked better. I noticed that Terry came out with a new short this year---the Bella---so I thought I'd give it a go. Tried them on--fit more like the old Terrys, thank goodness. The chamois is much better than the ones that used to be in the T-shorts. Not bulky like the PI, either. Today I wore them for a 26-mile ride. Comfortable but I'm not sure how the chamois would hold up over long rides like Centuries. I really like the fabic, too. It's substantial and offers good support, although it has kind of a rubbery type feel (which I don't mind but others might not like) The styling is awesome, as the waist has no elastic in the very front and it cuts down a bit into a V. Not too low, thank goodness. There's a wide elastic waistband that goes around the rest of the waistband around the back. I got the ones with the fushia stitching and they were flattering. PI's are still my favorite, but I really like these new Bellas, too. I might have to give the Sheila Moon shorts a try, too.

    Bella Shorts

Do you think these would work on a bigger/rounder type figure? I've been eyeing them up. I can't stand the big bulky touring chamois.

I have a pretty "generous" tail end for my frame and they fit fine. I think they would work good if you have curves elsewhere (belly area) because they have the V-waist. You can always try them on wearing underpants and if they don't fit, return them (or at least I think Terry has that policy). I'm hoping TE starts stocking them!! The chamois is great and not at all bulky. By the way, I bought a pair of the Sheila Moon shorts and the Bellas are much nicer. The Sheila's fabric wasn't as supportive so I ended up w/a bit of "chamois flap" in the front---I hate that. The chamois wasn't as comfortable as the Bellas, either. I'm hoping that perhaps, with some wash&wear, the Sheilas will get better. In any case, I'll use the Sheilas for spinervals recovery rides on my trainer.
