    May 22 Ride... cats...

... I may do more driving than riding today 'cause the kitty cat (that I"m sitting... but we've been good friends for 6 years, 'cause I used to live here...) has an appointment with Dr. Mary at 11:30 and it might be the last one.
Rode 100 miles yesterday, and my ankles - I think my Achilles tendons - are sore. I s'pose it's from switching bikes (I've done less than 300 miles on the Trek all year; hte red one is just more fun) and I guess this one had me flexing my ankles more. Other than that and just feeling (I'll admit it) TIRED... think I'll go take a nap til cat time...

Sorry about the kitty. We had another stray show up at the gate yesterday. Of course, my son's girlfriend fell in love with it and it slept in her arms all night...but we have already taken in 4 and that's enough.

I wish I could find a way to save all the kitties, including your friend, but I can't. This one is going to the rescue.

Four is the most that were in that house, too... and it definitely is enough!

No kitties now... I have a feeling that won't last too long. But it did mean I didn't have a reason to drive back home (to drop him off) and get the bike and ride out to work (the vet is along the way). And thanks to cell phones, Pete (his person) could talk to the vet and convince her that no, he didn't think it was fair to the cat to keep him going until they came back to say goodbye.

Now it means if I can find a ride leader and figure out the details, I can go to the Horsey Hundred this weekend, though... gotta see if it's too late to sign up... life goes on ... the Moochie Memorial Ride...

I'm missing Horsey this year! I've only missed it 3 times since 1984. Last year I drove by myself to Cincinnati (we still had our house) just so I could do that ride.

Next year I will be all healed and ready to go!

Sorry about the kitty, my "boss" is 19 with hyperthyroidism, CRF and arthritis. Every day that we have her is a blessing.

sorry about the cat... I miss those I had through my life, too. (and my boyfriend is allergic so it doesn't look like I will have others... he has wonderful qualities to make up for this problem......)

I signed up to be ride leader at my club's ride tonight, which is an easy-pace ride of only 30 km or so. It's still pouring rain. In the winter there are always a few riders no matter what, today I'm not sure if anyone but me will show up *sigh*. And of course I have no bike with fenders.

    Will report later...
