Enjoy CA!
I'm going to get on the stationary in the gym for a short recovery ride. To heck with the sunscreen and heat today![]()
Sunscreen? Heat? I just saw a tiny bit of sun taking the fleabag into the vet... but it's ducked back behind the clouds. Now to pretend I have something like a schedule and ride to work. (Moochie is a very good sport - doesn't even complain when I pour him into the cat carrier, tho' he knows where he's bound - it's still better than bathing, I suppose. Ironically, now he spends inordinate time at that water bowl, but it's going *in* and not *on.*)
The weather channel was noting that it is Bike To Work Week and citing the advantages of riding, though it was recitatory, not as if from the lips of anybody who'd had the thrill and the joys of actually doing it. Atlanta might not be my first choice for cycling commuting, especially if I had to be on the air when I got to work!
Darn! Now that I'm here "working", I've decided I should have taken DH up on his offer to go into work late and stay home and watch little people while I went out for a ride. I made this bad decision because I would have only had 40 min. to ride and, at the time, didn't think it was worth it. But now sitting here seeing what beautiful weather it is, I wish I were out on the bike.![]()
Maybe I'll sneak a ride in this evening.
Wishing you all many happy rides today!
"Bike to Work Week" and as the leader of the group I couldn't let the weather stop me. It was just misting when I left home, but became a steady rain about 5 miles in. By the time I arrived at work, (15 miles), I was quite soggy and gritty. I really didn't mind the ride too much though....definitely more pleasant than 95 and humid. I have my clothes drying out in front of a little heater so the ride home should at least start out comfortable. The sun is shining now but it's not expected to stay that way.
This has definitely proved to me that I can't use the threat of rain as an excuse to not bike to work anymore.
Rain! Cold, pouring, pouring rain!
And I thought I had only one clean pair of pants, so nothing to change into at the end of the ride.
Turns out I don't even have one clean pair of pants. Whoops! Not dirty, just not clean.
But tomorrow should be dry, if not sunny. Of course, the rain cleared by the time I got downtown. And I'll encourage the husband to do laundry.

Just commuted in today so far, might do more riding tonight, but the day is gorgeous. Have a good one!
