a weekend of not-so-good eating habits...

Have you ever had one of those weekends where you can't seem to find healthy food - even if you try???

Unfortunately, I did. Friday night was the last real meal that I ate - shish-ka-bobs... yummy. Then - the dove eggs (I won't go there). I think that was the beginning of my downfall. Then I got up Sat. morning and ate a clifbar and went for my morning ride. I was supposed to judge a crawfish cooking contest (which wouldn't of exactly been healthy but would've been good and solid food) that ended up with no entries (but an hour of driving to find that out). Went to a crawfish boil Sat night - ate about 10 lbs of crawfish. Sunday was worse - kids' cereal for breakfast, no ride, bad lunch (onion rings and a bit of a chicken wrap - I tried to be healthy, but it was awful and ice cream), then a birthday party with really good cake, then pizza for dinner. I felt so nasty last night! My new saddle comes today - once I get it installed I'm going to have to ride a looooonnnnnnggggg way to burn off the weekend glut.

I'm back to normal healthy eating today, TG. My yogurt this morning tastes sooo good.

    Thumbs down yep....me too

The closest I got to real food this weekend was a box of honey-garlic chicken wings. I was weak. I couldn't help it. It wasn't my fault.
Other dubious choices this weekend were: Cheezies, dry-garlic pepperoni stix, beer, popcorn, Reece's Peanut Butter Cups. True gastronomic chaos.
I only managed one meagre 40km ride Saturday evening. Today I'm fasting, and doing all my errands by bike. Yuk...I can still taste those pepperoni stix.

PS- it was good imported beer from France...that's pretty close to health food, isn't it? Isn't it?? Please?

Gosh... I got my blender cranking (I still have to work on getting it wedged up against the wheel tightly enough) - bananas, a little chocolate syrup, half a cup of yogurt, and some ice cubes... it's a lot more work if it's more full, but that crunches the ice better. Whew! DELISH! TONS of calories and I only did 25 miles on Saturday, because on the way home from the ride I lead, I stopped at a garage sale and bought a bookcase for 3$ and strapped it on the bike... but the next yard sale was a guy who refinishes furniture so I ended up leaving it there so it could graduate from a basement bookcase to a bedroom bookcase... and then the *next* yard sale had tons of IRISES so I rode to my floral consultant's house and we went back and bought ALL of them (43) and some daylilies so my cute little (BAKED TO A DRIED-OUT CRUNCHY BROWN last summer) back yard might just get some color :-)
Tonight if you're in the area I'll haul that blender out to Countryside Day School (Staley & Kirby, Champaign) at 6:00. I'll pick up some bananas... ice... yogurt... Hmmm... I wonder what the open container laws are about bicycles, I bet a little amoretto would go a long way...

Yup - I had some beer in there, too. You can't eat crawfish without beer. It just wouldn't be right.

At least we went to the birthday party on our bikes - towing the kids in the trailer. So - I guess I did ride a little yesterday. Uhhhhh - maybe a mile or 2. That's better than nothing, right??? Maybe I worked off a spoonful of cake. Maybe...

It'll be a turkey avocado wrap (yes we have those in the MS Delta now - but they're new) for lunch. The chicken thing from the weekend was from Sonic. I do not recommend it.

It's good to know I'm not alone in the lousy eating weekend.

    *slowly raises hand*

Yeah, I had a weekend of grossly unrestrained overindulgence as well. First a bachelorette party for a friend who is getting married, and then a birthday party for my ManFriend.

Well just consider it as a Weight Watchers Wendy Plan Super High Points Day. WWWPSHPD. Point being that your body is working super hard to metabolize all that stuff and now HAH! you can exercise and drop your intake and come out better after all.
