Flattest Century in the East

Just got the registration form in the mail today. Last year they were full by the end of May. Anyone thinking of doing this one in September?

Flattest Century in the East is on September 10th, and the registration form can be found at http://www.nbwclub.org/events/2006-TFCE.pdf.

I haven't done this ride, but I understand that it is a good one.

I have done Granite State Wheelmen's Seacoast Century in the past (info at http://www.granitestatewheelmen.org/...C-HomePage.htm) - and I like the way they run this ride. Instead of a mass start for each distance, you can start at any time between 7 and 1, as long as you are finished by 5. That's an interesting approach to a start - and it does a good thing by spreading the riders out. This is a beautiful ride too, following the coast of New Hampshire and Maine. Another interesting thing about this one is that it's scheduled for 2 days - September 23rd & 24th. You can ride one day or both days, same route.

I stopped doing organizied rides a long time ago, but I would still consider this one because of the (very staggered) start. (To be honest though, I'm more likely to follow this route at other times when there aren't so many people wandering on bikes. I ride in this area fairly often...)

The Seacoast century sounds great too.
Hubby and I are doing a 3 day around the quabbin next week and staying at B&Bs. Wish me luck, I hear it is very hilly.

I'm gearing up to send in my application for TFCE, too, Wavedancer. BF will join me, so it will be a good kick in the butt for both of us to get some miles in! As time gets closer we'll have to plan a rendevous! Anyone else?

MBB, sorry to hear about the seizures. Have you had anymore visits to MGH lately? Definitely feel free to call and leave me a message if you're heading in for an appointment.

Hi Ladies--I've been off the radar but have been catching up on New Posts when I can--like now while I wait for a patient. Kitchen remodeling at BF's and prepping for a conference talk in May are keeping me in. I have been on the bike recently but commuting from Bedford to MGH mainly...and I've got a bit more winter flab this time around!

Anyway, I like the sound of TFCE on Sept 10th. Good long term goal. I'll try to rope in BF. My more immediate goal is the Major Taylor hill race in Worcester in July. I'm officially registered. Eek. Anyone want to join me!?

Hi Everyone....

So far things are moving slower than I anticipated so I have not been on my bike. I have been having a little problem with seizures so I need to wait till I feel safe enough to ride. Which I am hoping will be next week sometime. I have my Terry all built up for me and ready to go...I am hoping to be back on the carbon Trek soon. In the meantime I have been enjoying watching cycling on TV. I watched all of the ACL 5 episodes and than watched in horror as my boy George go down, (never ever seen a steering tube break)!

Ain't this weather great!!! Robyn I hope you have a great vacation week. My daughter has this week off than she goes back for one week and she is done!
She is soooo excited. My son on the other hand is needing a good kick in the butt to get thru spring. He hasn't been the same since opening day at Fenway...die hard Red Sox people that we are!!
