Killer Flirt

There's a lady in my neighborhood who is always stopping my poor hubby while he's jogging so she can talk/flirt with him. It drives him nuts because you don't like to stop in the middle of a run. She also goes to our church & likes to flirt with him there. Last Sunday the pastor told everyone to shake hands & I reached for hers as she reached for my sweeties and our hands bumped. She said (*jokingly*) "Oh honey, I always go for the men!" -- Well, duh! I hadn't noticed. LOL

Anyway, today I'm out riding my bike & she almost took me out at the 4-Way stop. I had stopped & she was heading towards the 4-way. Well, I started up & she had just come through the stop (while talking on her cellular) and had to slam on her brakes for me. I suppose she didn't consider me a vehicle? Or maybe she was aiming. . . LOL -- just kidding!

If your husband is really annoyed by her then he would run a different route or even on the other side of the road. I'll be honest, but one rule....never stop someone else who is working/running to flirt. It sounds like she leads a very lonely life and there is a big hole she is trying to fill. Maybe you could show her how to fill the hole with some a real sport instead of man hunting. One last thought, go running with your husband atleast for the first part the course or maybe do a warm-up walk with him past the trap. He can't block her all the time so invite her for a run to get her mind off your hubby.

PS....the next time she tries to run you over, let her and sue the mini skirt off her...

LOL, chicki! He should be able to run in his neighborhood without changing his route. I've tried running -- I'm hate it. Definitely am loving my bike, though. I don't really think she was trying to kill me -- I was just joking. We were laughing about it because it was right after the "church flirting" incident. LOL We've been married a long time & love each other very much. I'm sure he'll be able to deal with her.

I don't want to sue anyone bad enough to let them run me over.

Hibiscus 09 - You have a wonderful attitude towards your neighbor, but beware. If someone is bold enough to flirt in church with many witnesses, then she may be capable of many other secret sins. I love that you love your husband and that you love your bike, happy too that you have a wonderful marriage. Your confidence in his ability to handle this sticky situation is also good, but does he really have to stop and speak with her. I have often encountered people asking for directions during a solo training ride. I just put my head down and keep riding. I am very protective of MY time and do not want to be interrupted. Perhaps if he just smiled pointed to his watch or something she might get the hint that he was going to stay in his ZONE and not stop. Good luck.

I think he's just slowing a bit when she gabs. Half the time she's in her vehicle and riding along talking to him! LOL She may accidentally run him over. He says she's pretty ding-y. I've met her husband. He's a doctor -- he seems really nice but kind of a quiet personality.

Anyway, I'm sure Brian will blow her off if she really gets on his nerves. He's such a gentleman -- but, I do know she's irritating him. LOL

you really wouldn't stop to help someone out because it would interfere with your training? Note, I am not talking about the flirt here.

I train hundreds of miles alone on country roads, and no I would not stop to give directions to a stranger for seveal reasons. 1st this stranger might be a preditor who is using that line to lure me into stopping and then try to hurt me and
2nd My training time is very precious to me. I work very hard to carve it out of a very busy schedule of work and parenting.
If I am doing intervals for example and trying to stay in a target heart rate zone, the last thing I need is to stop suddenly.
Now... so you think that I am a bad person....I have stopped to render aid to ladies with car trouble and to fellow riders with mechanical troubles but I personally think that it is rude to bother someone who is training or working out.
