Between the rain and going on daylight savings time today, I'm doing my best imitation of Madeline Kahn doing her Marlene Dietrich imitation in Blazing Saddles: "I'm Tired."

SK: "Tired of love uninspired. Let's face it I'm pooped."

My brother in law went to boat building school in Maine. Maybe he can help.

I had a therapist friend over for dinner on Saturday and she reminded me that if you're really serious about slitting your wrists you need to "go long".

I've made a mix of songs about rain to listen to when I can't take it anymore - here are some of my faves (there are some great rain songs out here...)

We can play these on the ark's in-dash CD player-

"I can't stand the rain" - The Commitments
    "A Hard rain's gonna fall - Dylan
"Out of the Rain" - Etta James
    "Stormy Weather" - Billie Holiday
"Who'll stop the rain" - Creedence
"Here comes the rain again" - Eurythmics

    and so on... repeat...

Did you like the harmonizing of the Sarah duet? It's hard to sing on key through the internet.

"Singin' in the Rain" -- how could we forget?

Can anyone tell I was raised on musicals?

"Riders on the Storm"--(although if might give some of us flashbacks)

I actually managed to ride yesterday, with 30 mph headwinds coming back (thank goodness for drafting), spitting rain and cold. One local LBS owner riding with us was a fount of information, telling us that this is the most we have had up north here since 1878. I heard southern Humboldt had something like 89 inches of rain.

Well it's lunch time and I'm stuck indoors as its raining pretty good right now outside my office building. Can't complain. Rain is really needed. Little or no wildflowers blooming in the hills here although they are finally starting to come up. Don't mind the rain... during the week... but hate it on the weekend. Oh well summer and dry weather will be here soon enough.
