    avoiding a fashion faux pas...

i just got some Gore leg warmers and was wondering the proper ettiquit of wearing them?

first of all...i am short so they come up to...well...uh-ummm...let's just say if i knew how to sew i could make tights of them...

anyway, because they come up so high should i wear them under regular cycling shorts or over them??? i also bought a pair of baggies (not sure if i like them or not for road...i got them mainly for commuting) should i wear those over them???

don't want to look like a complete dork...just a little bit if i can help it!!

I wear my knee and leg warmers tucked under my shorts. They seem to stay up better that way. I figure I already look geeky so... no diff.

I always wear my knee warmers or leg warmers under my cycling shorts. There is only an overlap of a 2 or 3 inches.

I couldn't tell you if there is a right or wrong though...

Better to wear them under, I think. The gripper elastic will grip the skin of your legs much better than the lycra (slippery) of your shorts, so they'll stay up better.

I know what you're saying, Bouncy, about how high they go up.......... Oh well, makes it easier to keep them up that way.

Go ahead and wear them under your baggies.......... better to be warm and slightly dorky-looking than cold and stylish, so I think.

    Just agreeing with the consensus

I don't wear leg warmers myself - I have tights
But my training partner wears hers under the shorts also...

looks like the census is under...i will try them on at home and see how it goes!! my only bummer is that my favorite pair of shorts (chamois speaking) are extremely thin...i may wear shorts/my thin tights/and the leg warmers...it may sound extreme but i would rather have too much than not enough (i will keep an eye on the weather of course!)

***i perfer tights too but i saw these and a sale sign the store forgot to take down (35% off) which made them $30...and the tights in the same material are $130 (so he said) impulse buy...i think i will be happy! (btw...did i mention i only have one pair of tights...thin ones i bought for running on a cold day in FLORIDA...hahahahaha)

    oh yeah...THANKS!!!
