Louis Garneau Airstream & Castelli knickers

I started off my long ride today with the Castelli knickers. I kept them on for the first 29 miles - 2.5 hours. I think there is just too much chamois in them.

I had also brought the LG shorts and my leg warmers. No problems with them for the remaining 7 hours of the ride.

The "wicked expensive" LG's were worth it, eh? Thanks for the review of the knickers, as I'm wondering whether or not I should get them. They cost a big chunk of change, relatively speaking, and I'm finding that knee warmers & regular shorts are working out for me on those in between days. Might be more practical to get another pair of shorts instead of knickers, which I won't be able to wear once our hot/humid summer weather kicks in. Do the castelli's have more chamois than the Witches Britches? Is the fit (fabric) good, despite the big chamois? One of my biggest dislikes is fabric that isn't supportive (PI attack shorts).

The LG shorts seemed to do a lot more for making my leg muscles happy. The Castelli fabric is okay. It doesn't have as many panels as my Castelli shorts. Maybe they can't do that in a knicker? But with the both the Castellis and the WBs, I feel like my "my knickers are twisted in a bunch." Maybe it's because I'm sort of between sizes.

Yeah - now I'll be keeping my eye out for sales on the LGs. Or when my beloved Sugois bite the dust, I'll pay full retail for another pair.

    Veronica,
Which Sugoi's do you have and are happy with?

    Thanks,

The Sugois I like are from 2004. I have a pair from 2005, but I don't really like how they changed them.

I was afraid of that. It seems to be the problem with most of the brands that came out this year.

Actually I have been wearing Trico. My husband really likes them, I do not since they changed the Chamois two years ago. Big waffle gel that I can hear when I walk. Plus the look of waffle imprints from the back isn't exactly what I call good looking.

I might be able to get my hands on PI or even Sugoi, older models. Maybe that will be a safer call. Your LG sound quite interesting. I have a couple of his jerseys and they are my favorites.

    Thank you for the info.
