Knee surgery scheduled

The MRI showed a bonespur in the space betwen the tib-fib and femur. The orthopedist wasn't sure if it was attached or not. Either way, it has to be removed. It also showed some cartilage damage. That will be cleaned up as well.

Unfortunately this is all scheduled right before spring break. My youngest daughter is also having surgery on March 9, me, March 10. Hers is eye(muscle) surgery for strabismus(crosseyed). We'll have spring break to recover.

I'm an insulin dependent type 2 diabetic and I wear an insulin pump. This is the reason I could even start riding on a regular basis, my blood sugars are finally under control. My doctor says he'll want me up on the trainer first when I start rehab. I have an older wind resistance trainer so I'll to go to a low gear to make it easy. I just can't afford a magnetic or fluid trainer right now.

Anyways, I'll let you know how it goes. I'm missing all the wonderful riding weather here in N. TX.

Good luck with the knee surgery! From past experience (both knees) - move around and start your physical therapy as soon as you can. It's amazing how much just walking around (with crutches of course) will speed up your recovery - it gets the circulation going. Healing vibes to you...

I think you two need to stock up on comfort foods - and then be VERY nice to your husband when you two are finally recovered.

I'll add my best wishes. Do what your PT tells you, and don't worry too much about this spring. Heal, and ride lots next year to make it all up.

I'll be thinking of you both too! Isn't it amazing how much the docs can help us these days??? OH! I'll be thinking of your family too... and the DH! Back to back surgeries... yikes...a little stress for your family that week huh? Follow the docs orders and have a safe and speedy recovery...
