Last night began what is known in New England as the "Holy Week" of Cyclocross - an evening race in Lancaster, MA that drew over 300 racers! DH and I went out to race in the SSCX category at 3 pm, and then to volunteer and heckle (I mean, cheer) our friends.
I think I had possibly the MOST fun racing my bike ever last night! For SSCX, they start the women and the men together as one group, and I battled all night with my friend Jesus. In the end, we sprinted to the line together, and this was the result:
Can you call it? The officials couldn't, and actually listed us as tying!
The entire last lap of my race, however, all I could think about was that I was going to have the BEST podium shot ever - I was going to be second to local pro, Mo Bruno Roy. I take comfort in very small pleasures.
