on vacation and celebrating

The SAG guy and I are doing a short 1 week vacation trip( our first somewhat prolonged trip away from home base as couple since we returned from the Netherlands 8 years ago) to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.

The fact that about every third public vehicle or service vehicle I saw on the way from the airport had some sort of reference to "fog and city " in their labeling, plus our plan to ride across a certain iconic and well known bridge and then take the ferry back to where we started should pretty much give away our locale. Well, if you are in SF, you picked a superb time to come. We're having some awesome weather - at least here in the East bay we are.

Being a Houstonite and assuming everything is sticky hot everywhere by this time of year , I didn't think to bring a lot of warm clothes but I did bring a windbreaker and enough tops to layer so I am surviving everything including the winds and marine layer.

Tomorrow is our 40th anniversary so we plan to ride across the Golden Gate bridge to Sausalito, take a ferry back and go out to dinner.

We haven't seen everything, but what we have seen and done has been great!
