Coolest Christmas Present Ever - Survival Strap ID Bracelet

I saw these Survival Strap Bracelets on Facebook one day and really wanted one in lieu of a road ID. My Mom and Dad got me one in purple and lime green to match my mountain bike. It has my emergency contact on the dog tag and my mantra passed on from my mom "Can't Never Could". I love that if I ever use it they replace it for just $5 shipping and that they donate to the Wounded Warrior group. My husband got a Road ID from my parents as well, we're now rolling a bit safer.

I've been trying to convince my teammates to wear Road IDs. I know many of them well, but I wouldn't have the faintest idea who to call in an incident.

My husband and I were discussing that, I usually ride with people who know him but if they couldn't access MY phone wouldn't know how to call him. He considers my girlfriends I ride with his friends but none of them have his number and I am friends with the majority of the guys he rides with but none of them have my number. So in an emergency they would have to start calling around until they found someone who knew me, yeah that is helpful.

I always ride with a road id, and most of the people I ride with do as well. I also HIGHLY recommend taking the time to get emergency contact numbers for the people you ride with regularly programmed into your phone - and yours in theirs. I had someone go down with me once on a tour, and wasn't even badly hurt, but trying to dig out the emergency contact number for the SAG vehicle while my hands were shaking and then dial those numbers was unexpectedly hard. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to get the road id off of an injured person and try to dial the number. I still say you should absolutely wear one, especially if solo riding, but I like to have the numbers in my phone when possible.
