    Ergon grips

When we went out on our first beginner trail ride with the local off road club last weekend the leader said the biggest recommendation he could make to new MTB riders would be to get a hydration pack and Ergon grips. What does everyone think about these grips? Does it make trail riding more comfortable? It's a cheap enough investment.

LOVE mine! The few rides I did before I got a pair left my hands sore and with some numbness issues. No issues at all with the grips.

I guess the next question is small or large? I have long fingers, not sure if that makes any difference. My partner on the other hand has a very small hand with short fingers. She's also looking into them.

I think the size of your palms/heel of your hand is more the deciding factor. I have a pretty average-sized woman's hand with medium fingers...mine are small.

I have 3 sets in my Ebay box right (all smalls): a set of GP1s and two sets of GA1s. Make me an offer....

Hey Becky, are they suitable for trigger shifers or twist? My partner has twist shifters so she needs the shorter grips, but small would be perfect for her. I probably should check out the size since my hands and fingers are pretty long, super narrow, but long.

Mine are all for trigger shifters. I have heard of people cutting them down to work with GripShift, but I've never done it myself.

I have long fingers as well, and preferred the fit of the smalls.

I was wrong. I have two sets of Ergons (one each of GP1s and GA1s). The other pair are GT non-ergo lock-on grips.
