I now officially have a "stable" of bikes...

As I was looking around on Craigslist for bikes that my sister might be interested in for college and saw how many older Trek etc. mountain bikes were available for reasonable prices, I got to thinking that it would be nice to pick one up for the dirt/gravel trails around here (rail trail and also quite a few ATV/snowmobile trails in some areas). There was a shop about an hour's drive away that had a few of them in smaller frame sizes, so today I went down there and came home with a Trek 830 from probably the mid-90s but in good shape. Never thought I'd be one to have more than one bike, but I do now...I think two is enough (especially since that's as many as I have room for!).

Yea, I was like you, I bought a 2nd bike and it was an older, slightly beaten up mountain bike.

    Now I have....4 bikes.

Nope, sorry. It isn't a "stable" until you exceed three.
I've lost count of how many my husband has. I think there may even be one under the basement stairs still in it's travel box from when we moved two years ago.

    hahaha, and so it begins.

When I first started biking, I met my friend Nancy, and she had 5 bikes. I couldn't understand what anyone would do with 5 bikes. well, now I just bought my third... Have fun as you start sliding down that slippery slope of bike buying.

How many do you need to consider it a "fleet?" I personally have 4 plus 2 other "household bikes" that I use regularly.
