Personally, I don't wear white anything. I can spill/stain with the best of them. I also have convinced myself that black looks smaller
I know some models have major see through issues. You might want to search and see if you can find a specific review of the one you want.

No way for me. I don't wear anything in white. It turns me into a stain magnet...and I would probably be mistaken for a large household appliance.

Personally, I wouldn't wear them. I have red Castelli shorts that I'm hesitant to wear in public.
But I do know women who do with confidence. I think "confidence" is the operative word here.

I haven't worn white pants or shorts in years meaning even off bike.

I won't wear white because then I wouldn't be able to spit on my hands and wipe off the grease and dirt without it showing.
On a recent charity ride, their was a couple, African American and very very "zaftig". They were both kitted out in white shorts. Fortunately I was only behind them for a very short while, but even then it was way too much visual information.
