ok got it set up its tacx magnetic...very quiet at the store during the demo - could it be my mountain bike tyres

I had my Trek hybrid on my trainer and it had semi-nubby tires. It made a lot of noise. Do you have any tire shred?
I treated myself to a Cyclops Magneto trainer when Nashbar had it on sale earlier this fall and have my Terry Fast Woman on it. Racing slick tires. Makes very little noise, no tire shred. I love the trainer---before I was using a Performance model (fluid). I think I killed that trainer from overuse. It ended up leaking fluid.

lol you made your fluid trainer give up its fluid! thats one loved machine
well the tyres have to go then... off to the shop to get some smoooothhhh ones im desperate to ride while the baby sleeps in the next room
