    Take a long shoes

I went to clipless pedals on my road bike, I have speedplay pedals. The shoes are almost impossible to walk around in for anything but a very short distance because of the cleats. I sometimes like to ride to a destination and then stroll around for a while, and then ride back. It is so hard to carry anything of significance on the road bike as I am stuck with jersey pockets and a seat bag. Anyone have ideas on shoes to take with for strolling? All I have thought of are the little cloth shoes, Mary Jane style, that you used to be able to buy in "hippie" stores. I wore them a lot back in the 70s. I am not sure where to even get them now.

    Ideas?

check out soft star shoes. They have a mary jane that might be just the thing for you. Also, they are made in the USA. (google it)

    Softstar do look cool!

I used to wear those Chinese cloth shoes too, and I've been kind of poking around the intertubes for them now and then, but I haven't found anything plain and inexpensive.

I just got a pair of Stem shoes and love love love them. But they are made in China.

I wear soft star runabouts every day at work, at home, everywhere except on my bike. Since I bought my first pair, I have turned on both my daughter in law and my son, my son who can't stand shoes to these nice flexible lightweight shoes. And if you're a vegan, they have stuff for you too.

There are flat shoes that fold up very small you can get at your local Rite Aid. I do believe they look like Mary Janes. They are being sold as shoes to take when you are out partying in high heel shoes and need something to slip into when the pain becomes to unbearable.

They just stop selling little foldable slip-on flats at Target in the accessories department - if you have small feet, your store might have some left at 70% off. Gap has some called City Flats but they aren't very cheap (I bought a pair on clearance for about $4 a before Christmas).
