Belize (Emily, where are you?)
DH and I have a hiking/mtb trip planned for Moab in mid-April. At least that was the plan. My slow healing hamstring injury may require a Plan B, as cycling and hiking are out for the time being. Within the next couple of weeks, I need to decide whether to postpone Moab to next year.
Belize has come up as a possible alternative. For those who have been there--and Emily in particular--is a week long enough to be worth the trip there? We'd stay longer, but we already have another trip planned to Maine later in the year. What areas would you suggest for snorkeling, kayaking, light hiking, eco touring. I'm not one to just sit on a beach, but i have to remember that my hamstring may prevent any too strenuous. I honestly don't know enough to ask more specific questions at this point. Budget is an issue in the sense that we don't typically splurge on fancy accommodations. Something basic and clean will suffice.
Thanks for any info!
