My favorite is a breakfast hot cereal. It takes almost 2 hours to make, so make a batch and reheat it for breakfast.
Boil 1 cup wheat berries for an hour. Then drain and put in blender or food processor to chop the berries coarsely. Put them back in the pot with 2 cups or more of milk (I use almond milk), 1/3 cup raisins, and a stick of cinnamon. Simmer for about 30 minutes. Turn off heat, remove cinnamon stick, and optionally add 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and 2 tbsp maple syrup. Serve as is or with yogurt. Yum!
Oil is good, grease is better.

I tend to cook up a whole bunch of wheatberries, and keep them in the fridge plain. That way I can use some in a porridge, some in a salad, however I want to use them as my grain for the week.
My boyfriend and I do our favourite wheatberry salad frequently: here's the recipe. I love the feta/parsley/lime juice combination.
Deb and Linzq, those sound really good--the cereal for winter and the salad seems like it would be a good spring/summer dish for lunch (perhaps with some cubed chicken thrown in).

I love wheat berries and usually eat them in a salad:
Two cups of wheat berries...soaked for about an hour and them put in the rice cooker with two and a half cups of water to cook.
Then, since i don't measure, here are some of the things I add:
dried cranberries
roasted pumpkin seeds
chopped apple
chopped spinach
brocolli florets
For the dressing:
1/4 cup ginger ale (I use Trader Joes)
3 tablespoons of apple cider vinagar
juice of one small lemon
2- 3 tablespoons of good Olive Oil
Whisk it all together and pour over the salad. Let it sit for aboout an hour if you can before eating.
I also use a little bit of crushed red pepper only because I love the mix of sweet and hot!
