    Need Help with Bike Decision

I am looking for an upgrade for my first road bike (A Giant OCR2, that I have passed down to my sister). I have been test riding, and am all turned around as to the bike I should be getting. HELP!

I am 5'2", legs longer than my torso. I have done several triathlons (olympic distance and half ironmans) and will continue to do triathlons and maybe a century ride some time down the line. While I am by no means fast, I would love to get a bike that will improve my ride. I have ridden the Scott Contessa CR Team 1, Caad 10, the Canonndale Supersix (3 and 5), and the Cervelo S2. I have ruled out the Caad 10, as I want a carbon frame. Both Supersixes were a very smooth ride, I also really liked the S2 (and I would be lying if I wasn't swayed by how pretty the S2 is). I plan to put aero bars on the bike. Anyone have any opinions on these bikes, or others (I am still open to others)? How each handles for triathlons? The differences in the parts, etc.? What are other female triathletes riding? Thanks!

I'm so sorry that I can't help you as I'm a total newbie. Perhaps you can cross post (and let people know it's a x post) in the "open cycling' forum as there are more people that frequent that board. I'm sure someone can give you an opinion on some of the bikes you've listed below. Good Luck.

I'm no triathlete, but the SuperSix and the CAAD10 are on my list of bikes to try. I'm not familiar with Cervelo or Scott (though it sounds like you're leaning toward the Cervelo or C'dales).

Cannondale's numbering system means that the lower the number, the nicer the components, even though the frame is the same. If you can afford it, go with the 3 rather than the 5. Are you looking at the women's version, or the unisex?

Go with the bike that feels best, with the nicest components you can afford.

Have you also looked at Trek and Specialized? Spec is expensive, but they're good for those of us with short torsos.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

Would agree to go with what feels best. Felt might be a good one to try as well. My first bike was a Felt women's design. I moved to carbon and a C'dale Synapse, which does better for me because of its more upright geometry.

If you can do the S2 and it fits- go for it!

JMHO but it is the nicest bike on that list.

    Cannondale synapse women's

I have worked in the industry for 15 years. Cannondale is making some of the best road bikes on the market. I'm personally on a SuperSix and it's great. I would look at the synapse carbon, it at least looks more like the Cervelo. My 2 cents - don't get a Cervelo! Go Pinarello if you want something unique
