Maybe some of you can help me with a project I am working on

Please dont be mad at my post, Im just trying to graduate and I need information from a diverse population. I really dont want to offend anyone. Im looking for female participants to take a survey so I can complete my thesis. right now I just need about 30 more. I am not collecting any personal information. There is a box for an email address, but that is for a raffle. If you aren't interested do not put in an email address. If I cannot finish my results section by Dec 5, I will not graduate until the end of next spring. The survey will only take 2 minutes to complete and focuses on women's perceptions of law enforcement. If you have 2 minutes to spare, I would really appreciate it. Below is the link.

    Thanks
    Dave

Interesting. Survey is definitely on one track. Not really covers other reasons a gal would or wouldn't go into law enforcement.

I've played in male dominiated professions and found the biggest pigs weren't cops or firemen. (nothing disparraging to our porcine friends)

+1 - kept waiting for other type of questions beyond being fearful of harassment and physical capabilities.

I agree with bmccasland that the reasons covered are very small and probably are not any where near why many women choose other careers. My BA is in broadcasting, which is still a male dominated profession. (Also a profession that can be nearly impossible to get into and doesn't pay anything for a long time. A large part of the reason I'm not working exactly in that field, although the degree did get me a job with a large broadcasting company, just in a totally different section of it).

Being a rather small person, I do kind of doubt I have either the physical ability or the physical presence to have a job as an officer - but I'd totally take a job in forensics (I'm a medical photographer). In fact I'm pretty sure years and years ago, right after I moved out here to Seattle, I actually applied for a job with either the city or the county....

I sent this too my two daughters who are in their 20's to complete. One of them has an interest in the justice system.

When I was in my 20's I would have never become a police officer but now if I could do it again, it might have been a really interesting challenge.

    Good luck with school

I hope the study accounts for age, gender, and former experience as a LEO. I was one in my 20's so my answers are probably very different than non LEO's.
