Just wanted to introduce myself....I am 44 and new to cycling in general, started riding a hybrid in July 2010. Had worked myself up to riding 30+ miles in a day and then In April 2011 blew out my ACL while at martial arts class.
(March 2010 was my turning point to get in shape again). The last 6 months has been surgery, recovery, phyical therapy and in general no exercise other than PT.
Since Oct. 11th I am back on my bike and have logged over 125 miles and still going. More exciting is that I finally upgraded to a road bike I purchased from a guy who bought it a year ago...put 53 miles on it and decided it was not for him. Well it sure is for me!!! Now being the newbie I am regarding bikes and what to look for I went to my local bike shop and talked to a guy (who happens to have the same physical therapist I have) who is an avid racer for many years. I showed him the pics and specs of the 2009 Giant Defy Advanced 3 I was thinking of buying and he told me to jump on it it was a sweet deal.
I have had the bike for less than a week and already love it! Had it professionally fitted and am waiting for the shorter stem I will need to come in.
Looking forward to becoming part of this forum and learning alot from some of you more experienced riders!![]()
