    Bird attack!

I have a wreath on my front door made of twigs and some bright reddish flowers. Tonight when I came home it was already dark out. As I was fumbling with my keys something flew right at my head. (I'm choosing to believe it was a bird and not a bat!) Anyway, this also happened several times last year around the same time of year. It scares the BEJEEZUS out of me every time it happens, but I always forget to check before I get up to the door. I know one of these nights, I'll get the door open and the bird will fly in the house! I don't really want to take my wreath down....is there something I can put on it to discourage my little visitor from hanging out there?

Sorry I don't know the answer to that but I once made the mistake of hanging indian corn on a door without a screen/storm door on it and in less than a week I had bare corn cobs hanging there. Birds/squirrels ate all the corn off.

Porch light? The other day when I was in the electrical department of my local grocery superstore (NOT WallyWorld I might add), I saw light sensitive things you can screw into your current porch light that will turn it on in the evening / off in the morning, you just need to know if you're using an incandescent or florescent light bulb.

At least if the porch light is on, you'll see your birdie coming.

learn to make a lot of noise as you approach the house? We have a couple of rock doves who like to hang out in the shadows from the edge of the porch and fly up from around our feet as we approach unless we make noise. I live in fear of stepping on one and squashing it flat.!

Thanks BMC, I'll have to check those sensors out. I wasn't sure how to get a timer on this light, since it is just a switch inside my house, but a sensor might work. @Marni...everytime it happens I tell myself I have to make more noise as i approach, but then i forget...the bird isn't there all the time. I'm sure I give the neighbors quite a show because I scream every time it happens.

wel lmy neighbors already know I am weird because I ride my trainer out in the driveway waving madly at everyone who drives by. They purposely avoid eye contact. I consciously practice being eccentric, so that when I go crazy , no one else notices.

You have a grocery store called WallyWorld? Is Chevy Chase working there these days?
