Knee tendonitis
Ok, so I think I have a touch of knee tendonitis...though I'm not really sure. It all started about 2 weeks ago, when I tried out my new SI Turbomatic saddle. It was quite a bit thicker than the Specialized Ruby that was on there, thus sitting me a bit higher than normal. I didn't want to mess with the saddle height because it was perfect for my Ruby, so I just left it (which I now realize was DUMB!). It took me a while to really notice it, and by the time I did...I think the damage was done. I had started to feel the classic "behind the knee" pain in both of my knees. After that ride, the Ruby went back on my bike and I was back to my normal saddle positioning. But now I'm still feeling some residual effects, but only behind my right knee...the left one feels fine. I had my DH take a look at it, since I can't really get a good peek at it...and he said it looks noticeably puffier in that area compared to the left side. I've been icing it like crazy, but I'm beginning to get a bit concerned. The fact that I rode lots of miles (258) over the past 3 days, hasn't helped for sure. Obviously, I feel a lot more strain and stress on it when climbing hills or pushing a big gear...so I consciously tried to avoid doing those things on today's ride. But it has gotten to where I'm walking with a slight limp now. Any ideas on what this could be? Does it sound like tendonitis? Are there any home remedies I can try, such as foam rolling, or specific stretches?
