    My New Bike is Here!

Some of you know my Gary Fisher Hifi was damaged in a car wreck. My replacement bike, a 2011 Specialized Epic Comp 29er, arrived yesterday! She will be getting some upgrades: Industry 9 wheels with purple hubs and black and purple spokes, ODI green grips with purple lock ons (already installed), a purple Salsa seat clamp and of course a bottle cage. Should be getting an appropriate amount of dirty this afternoon. They cut down the bars and flipped the stem for me, did an awesome fit. I cannot wait!

Shoo OO! Congrats. on your new ride! I absolutely love the combo of green & purple. I think you should take an "after" photo and post for us to see! Where will you ride it?
Do you have a name for it?

Awesome! Congratulations on the new bike! I love your bike rack, I wish my car would take a hitch rack.

I like the idea of a before/after photo - after you have broken her in

    Yummmmmy!

Just the other day the little beach-cruiser-focused LBS down the street from me was putting together a bike that the whole frame was hi-viz yellow. With that color and fat tubing I could wear whatever I wanted ...

Catrin- I had to have the hitch kit installed, it was so worth it. My friend put a hitch on her Honda Fit, most cars can take one. It is nice since moutain bikes never ride nicely on the ones without wheel trays and I am not able to deal with roof racks being short and clumsy.

There will definitely be after pictures in a few weeks but I couldn't wait to show my pretty new baby! It felt like a really long two weeks since I ordered her and month since my Fisher was damaged.

I called Mitsubishi and they said my car cannot take a hitch....though perhaps they thought I meant doing real towing....

I have a Saris Bones RS.

I just took another look at the geometry, and I see what you mean. I think it will be fine, though best if I don't try to transport another bike with the Jamis. I will do some research into the hitch mount question, though I probably can't do that this year. I have blasted my 2011 bike budget into smithereens..and 2012, 2013, 2014....
