    US Sites for Buying Gear

Hey guys, I'm looking to restock my cycling gear after a whole bunch of years of being too broke to buy badly needed new gear. Right now I'm down to hunting for a tri backpack, shoes, pedals and DeSoto Carerra shorts. Can anyone recommend any websites in the US that are reliable and have good prices on these items? I'm having them shipped to my sister in Connecticut so international shipping is not necessary at all. Thanks guys!

Team Estrogen is the obvious answer for at least some of the things you mentioned. They don't carry pedals, however.

I've had good luck with any number of other retailers: Performance, Nashbar, Jenson USA, Trisports, REI and Speedgoat just to name a few. I ususually Google whatever item I'm looking for to see who offers the best price and shipping. I've yet to run into any serious problems.

I like Jenson and Excel Sports. I would advise against Cambria Bike, not because of any specific issue, but just because they are sooooooooo slow.

Nashbar is owned by PerformanceBike though they run it as an independent business. They are their own distributor, and thus selection might be a bit limited.

UniversalCycles is a personal favorite. They're a left coast LBS that interfaces with the major distributors. Speedgoat has a similar operation on the right coast.

2+ on Trisports for tri related stuff. Www.onetri.com is also good. Shop around for specials and close outs.

Oooh; I forgot about them. They have a nice selection and, often, good prices.
