Cold heart?

I've always been one of those "Cold hands; warm heart" people and lately my dopey Raynaud's has finally gotten t to the point where my fingers can hurt for a week if they get cold at all, and it isn't even that cold!

But today I have warm hands; Brewer got me a pair of Gerbing's 7v gloves!

This morning we went for a test ride temp in the high 30s and my hands are fine. It is almost like being a normal person!

I find my worst problems are after exercise, as my body is trying to readjust to normal temperatures. Unless it's a sweltering summer day, I have to jump right into a scalding shower to keep from having an attack. Maybe I'll just get the gloves and live in them.

Thanks for the find, I'll look into those gloves forsure. I have Raynauld's too, and it's just getting worse. I hate dealing with the pain when my fingers "come to". Do these gloves help with the wind? I have Gore Bikewear phantom gloves and they claim they're wind and water resistant but I don't find they work at all for me...even when it's not very cold out.

Gosh Raynauld's. Horrible when I had difficulty unbuttoning a coat for about 10 min. when temp. outside were only -5 degrees C. Crazy. But it was frustrating, abit scary.

Well, I dunno maybe, just maybe now I'm getting abit more acclimatized living in a different region now with much colder winters.

My Raynauld's is not gone completely, but I don't experience same problems as I did in Vancouver.

Next winter will be a better test, but so far, I love these. The heat wires go up each finger and the thumb individually; it makes a huge difference.

I had them on in the car, on the highest setting and it felt too hot, but I imagine that might not be the case outside in the cold.

They might be too thick and clunky to operate brifters because they are leather and then thinsulate and then another layer of liner. I could operate the brakes fine and I have bar end shifters, so no problem for me.

Me too...basically my happy time is doing anything active, at first running and cycling is painfully cold in the winter until I warm up...but I hate when they're numb and coming in, knowing what's coming next! Standing around in the cold is bad.
I think I'm gonna invest in those gloves!

Turning this more into a Raynaud's support thread, but today was beyond miserable for me. It was supposed to be 55. I dressed warmly for 55, knowing that I would have to be outside (though I had black flats on since I was working and had to look "nice"). Well, it was 32. And windy. And my feet were frozen little stubs - I kept tripping over them.

Time to get warm black shoes/boots!

I just can't believe how many people i'm meeting these days who have it...even though there's nothing we can do about it, at least we don't have to feel alone!
I was talking to someone yesterday and looked down and saw that her hands were completely purple...whipped mine out of my mitts and we looked like twins!
My knuckles are also getting a little swollen and stiff and had xrays for rheumatoid arthritis but they came back clear...maybe down the road...
