Proof that a smile/word can go a long way

This gent was named Australian local hero of the year @ Australia day ceremonies yesterday. (having a few computer issues..need to post full link)

I think it's proof that no matter what technology's out there to "help" save folks..a human voice goes a long long way.

Of all the Australia Day stories we heard yesterday, I think this one's the coolest.

Let's hear it for "the common man"!

A cuppa and a chat, saves lives, wow. What a gentleman, in every sense of the word.

What a hero, and how wonderful that he was recognised for his time and compassion.
