    Winter cycling poll results

    Here.

While there might have been more cyclists than non-cyclists responding to the poll...just a snapshot.

And as an addendum remark to photo, Banff Alberta has bike racks on their local buses.

I'm a stationary trainer kinda gal, but only because I don't have a bike suitable for riding on snow (road bike). Someday I will have a cyclocross bike with studded tires and a little snow and ice won't be enough to keep me inside and bored.

You won't regret it. I sold my trainer to help pay for the wheels on my new Double Cross, and I don't miss it one bit. Riding over ice is some serious fun! You'll love it!

I've been riding outside all winter. The things that keep me in are when the snow is fresh and deep, there's a risk is of cars sliding into me, and when the temp gets below the point where I start getting symptoms of hypothermia. Luckily, I've still been able to ride at least a few days every week.

    heat

It's been nice n cool for the past few days but temp's supposed to hit 40C on friday

During the so-called Australian "winters", I must ride outside. Perth winters are breeze & i laugh when it goes down to 0C . (I just put on a jersey & a touque when i'm at home as most houses aren't central heated)

I tried a trainer once but just couldn't stand being inside.

Shootingstar, very interesting. I love riding in winter and it always cheers me to see that commuters are out even on the coldest days.

It's been raining here non stop for a few days! Which is very uncustomary. However, its better than most parts of the nation. I rode to work yesterday, feeling motiviated, I was up and out ealier than usual and watch the sunrise over the intracoastal waterway, it was incredible.
