FS: Garmin Edge 305 Computer Only

My husband found a Garmin Edge 305 at one of the local mountain bike trails, obviously it had bounced of the bike as part of the mount was still attached. We attempted to find its rightful owner with no luck and do not have a need for the item.

The computer sells for about $230 new, this one looks to be in great shape. You would need to buy a mount (about $15) and possibly a charger. My car one is able to charge on my older Blackberry charger so you may have a USB that fits it, also already have USB cables at my house that fit my own Garmin so you don't need a Garmin one necessarily.

Out of curiosity - have you called Garmin? I wonder if it's registered. I'm sure you guys did - but I just hate to see it not back with its rightful owner

We tried multiple methods to return it. I have actually had it since early December but no luck finding anyone in the mountain bike community, local board, Craigslist or Garmin that had information. It is so bizarre because the trail is well traveled and often people lose one on it then post on CL or our local board. I even asked my wrenches to keep there ears open since it is one of the most frequented shops. So 6 weeks later and no luck on it.

Hoping someone else can give it a second life of love and I can put a few bucks towards books for school.

Another idea is to load the stored rides online - I think you can upload them to MapMyRide and see if you can find any rides that started from a specific house. Creepy, but might find a grateful owner.

I actually even tried calling him out by age because that was saved. Doesn't look like they did any road rides, so all I could post was "rides x trail". Yeah, I tried many methods to find the owner. I am beginning to think they may not have been local, new to town or not into racing, the mountain bike clubs and must fix their own bike. I tried several of the local shops, especially the mountain bike ones.
