    A new plan...

well here it is almost December and finally I have a plan for training for IMC.
last year I really enjoyed my training plan ( I had a coach) but I can't afford that this year- I was struggling with trying to decide if I should just repeat what I did last year or try something new.
last year was ok but not a resounding success so after much debate ( in my head ) I decided with a new plan..so now I am excited!!
This plan requires a lot more thinking from me and active participation in the decision making..what I like about it is the philosophy of " Train the weakness, race the strength". I like that the plan looks at what MY weaknesses are and makes a plan for that- nothing generic.
It does require some testing ( to learn what the weaknesses are) and some new equipment so there is an expense to that.
I think this will be great though the downside is that the plan is not structured in the usual way..( and I like structure) but the good thing is I think I will learn a lot about my body and its physiology..so that is exciting. The other motto of this plan that I like is "no brain no gain" meaning that every workout should be trying to address a specific weakness and not just doing something for the sake of doing it- so you have to think more!
    Anyway I hope it works

It's nice to be engaged, and since you've been through it before you have a little bit of an idea about what to expect and what kind of commitment you have to make. If you sign up for a second, the first is all about learning and making improvements. Should be exciting!!!

Fantastic that you have a plan. It is really easy to focus on strengths rather than weaknesses and having a purpose to each workout really helps to narrow the focus..like when you are hurting.

My motto this year is "It's the little things." Run form, bike form, working on flexibility and strength, everyday posture..when I find myself getting sloppy and my mind is wandering - I have to remind myself that I need to focus on the little things so that by the time it is race day, it is habit.
