Venting - no riding after crash :(

Hello ladies. Last month I was in a bad wreck on my bike. apparently my front wheel got caught in some nasty train tracks. The whole thing was an ordeal (lost consciousness, ambulance ride, ER, Neuro ICU, several days in the hospital), and I can't ride or workout like usual, and I can't drive for another 2 weeks per doctor's orders. On top of that, all the effects of the head trauma suck.

I'm going insane here. I'm allowed on the trainer for moderate efforts, but I'm too tired most days to even think about it. And my husband is being a pain in the rear.

sigh.. anyway, I'm loving reading about everyone else's adventures on the road.

{{{LO}}} So sorry to hear about your wreck! That is awful! Hope you are doing better every day. How about getting out of the house for a nice long walk? That would get you away from the Spin bike and from hubby if he is not sympathetic! Sometimes guys are the worst sympathizers, but just wait till they are in the same situation...then they want it ALL!

Take care and I hope that the head after-effects go away and you are soon back on the bike.

Wow! Sounds like you had a hum dinger of a fall! Now you get to enjoy the perks of healing by staying in your jammies, watching t.v., doing cross word puzzles and getting in those afternoon naps. The downside to it is the mind is willing but the body isn't. There is an ebb and flow to the healing process and you'll have good days and not so good days. Just be patient (easier said than done), and let your body do it's remodeling job. It won't be long and you'll be up and at em again. Sending you a virtual hot cup of tea and a biscotti.

Tell your husband we said to be nice!

It's tough to be unable to do things that used to be fun. But work hard, play hard...you need to relax hard and stop thinking about what you can't do. The better care you take of yourself now, the sooner you'll be back out there! I hope you find some way to entertain yourself until you're feeling better.

I don't have any advice; I just wanted to offer my sympathies. I hope you're back to normal really soon. I've fallen on tracks before myself, but thankfully didn't hit my head. You must have taken quite the fall.

    Hang in there!

thanks everyone. I just needed to her that encouragement.

On the plus side, I didn't need any pain killers for headache today!
