    Fairy Princess Helmet

I thought you would get a kick out of my fairy princess helmet (you know, for the safety conscious fairy princess!)

It is part of my costume for the 3Day...I also have giant pink wings and a fairy wand!

I am on route safety, so I will be a bicycle fairy patrolling the walkers, LOL! Should be interesting with wings and a princess fairy helmet!

Rikki wears her wings on the motorcycle - they're good up to about 50 mph... Most of my Atlanta crew wore wings this year - not a problem at all. Well, except in the portapotties....

Love the pink helmet but I would love to see the finished costume, sounds brilliant.

I tried to sponsor you but it does not accept Paypal, peraps you can PM me your Paypal details then put the money on for me, it will only be $10, as the ol' pennies are a bit tight at the moment.

Good luck for the big day.

I love the costume, Leslie!!! I have some tutu making material, but I haven't decided if I am going to do that yet...and a pink boa (just cause I like it!) and some pink striped leg and arm warmers. I picked up two pairs of long toe sock and cut off the feet and voila!!! leg and arm warmers! These are my wings...

    Leslie,

Can you give me a general idea of how you made your skirt? Did you make it so that it is kind of fitted then flared at the bottom, like a broomstick skirt?

I suspect I know what I'll be doing all day.

I'm not at ALL creative or crafty - I bought 'em - one in pink and black, the other in black and pink, from pettiskirtstyle.com They're expensive, but I do at least three 3-Days a year, and well, they get abused, so the quality of these makes them stand up to the abuse. (There's a ton of pictures of me sitting on the ground in a puddle of tulle.) Oddly enough, the fluff gets them up and out of the way of my saddle when I'm riding.

One thing - I like an easy elastic waistband. I don't do portapotties with them - just slip it off and leave it outside with my Nextel. So, easy on and off is crucial.

Yup, a serious discussion about the properties of a tutu on a bike.

Awesome! I can get an idea of how they are made from the website. I have some shiny pink oriental type material and some pink tulle.
