    Question for Kindle users

I get more curious about the Kindle as the price is less than half of what it used to be - and is now even less than the Sony Reader. A question for Kindle owners - is the screen glossy at all? I like the e-Ink technology (my Sony reader had it), but I do NOT like a glossy screen like my Sony reader had. My Sony reader had a touch screen that was quite glossy. Their other model did not have a glossy screen and I found it perfect. Sony, however, keeps discontinuing models and releasing new ones - and the Kindle's price keeps dropping...

The Kindle screen is not glossy at all. I can read for much longer periods on my kindle than I can with a "real" book and in all types of light, even outside in the sun. I am very very happy with the Kindle and highly recommend it!

No, it's not glossy at all. I sold my Kindle 2 and bought the Kindle 3 and I love it. I'm very happy with it.

I really want to do that as well, but I just got my kindle 2 in february and it seems decadent to do that.

It's not glossy at all, Catrin - go into Target, they have kindles on display that you can play with and look at the screens.

Yes, I thought so too, but for now I was able to get more for my Kindle 2 than I paid for the Kindle 3, so that made me feel a little bit better about it.

Hrm. Did you ebay or craigslist? The kindle 3 is just that little bit smaller and lighter with longer battery life. I've biked about 300 miles with the kindle in my backpack and maybe paddled a couple hundred miles with it in my kayak (I stick nautical maps on it and it's nice to read while camping) - so I can almost justify having a teensy bit lighter of one.

Do they? I didn't think I could actually look at them anywhere! I had the second version of the Sony Reader which I loved - but gave it to my sister - and bought the touch-screen version which I liked much less and eventually sold it for more than I paid for it (for bike stuff).

Has anyone had problems with their Kindle, or trouble getting help from Amazon if you needed support for it?

We've never had any Kindle problems - hubby has a Kindle2i, I had the Kindle 2 and now the Kindle 3.

Amazon has always had the best customer service. I bought an exercise bike through them and the seat had a tiny split on it. They gave me a $50 credit to get a new seat.

Best Buy also has the new Kindle in stock.
